We developed a software tool–INTERIORS–to reduce the time spent in searching and navigating plant 2D drawings and 3D information.
In INTERIORS, drawings, models, and point cloud are integrated on the basis of plant objects and relationships among them, all interrelated plant information can be automatically displayed once an object is selected.
Objects shown in 2D drawings are projections from 3D models, and 3D models are constructed according to the point cloud produced in Laser scan, such kind object-derivation relation is embedded in INTERIORS database, which enables quick searching and correct mapping among drawings, models, and point cloud.

Web and client-server based INTERIORS naturally enhances information sharing and simplifies plant information updating.
Annotations marked in point cloud or 3D models provide a convenient way to pass information between shifts, hold on-line meetings, and even denote maintenance work needed.
All these functions make INTERIORS an effective tool to search and glance over correct, interrelated, and complete set of plant information, useful to daily work, planning, and emergency responses.
